1. Artistic production
In August, Ascen-Danse brought buried narratives of collective memory to life through contemporary dance at Mont-Dauphin, France. Their performance honored extraordinary stories and the people who shaped them, diving into the profound impact of shared memory on communities and ecosystems.
David Bonnefoux’s musical composition featured traditional Armenian instruments, infusing the piece with cultural depth and resonance. Costumes, delicately woven with lace, served as a homage to Armenian lacemakers, symbolizing threads of memory that tied the past to the present.
Presented during Mont-Dauphin’s 3-day dance festival, Vertical’été, the performance integrated research findings from the Pariahs project, shaping a work that blended artistry with historical reflection.
